Why undertake energy efficiencies

Simple. Rising power bills.
Save money. Our comprehensive, tailored energy audits help clients realise a 20% to 30% cost savings.
In 2020, you may be eligible for an energy efficiency grant. The Australian Government is offering grants to small businesses, businesses that consume large amounts of energy, and community organisations.
Our Energy Audit: what to expect
Audits are industry targeted, such as professional services, educational organisations and manufacturing. We carry out a site inspection, deliver a comprehensive report and a presentation of findings. In many circumstances we also undertake on site monitoring.
The final report
Our report covers a 24-month period and includes:
- Annual energy savings as a percentage and dollar figure
- Payback period to your business in years
- Estimated savings for each item by $, kWh, tCO2-e, GJ
- Billing analysis to highlight trends and spikes
- Where best to focus your reduction measures.
The report includes a clear breakdown of your energy use and type (electricity versus gas). We also analyse your electricity consumption and category type, such as IT, lighting, and HVAC, and make detailed recommendations.
Our auditing team considers in detail your site’s management and operational processes. We also take into account the technology required to reduce energy costs and mitigate possible future carbon emissions liabilities. This includes beneficial changes in technologies such as lighting, compressors, pumps, and motors.
Scope
Our Energy Audits comply with Australian Energy Audit Standards AS/NZ 3598.1:2014, 3598.2:2014 and 3598.3:2014* at Type 2 or 3 levels. For our less energy intensive clients we may provide a comprehensive Type 1 Energy Audit which typically exceeds the standard.
Pangolin auditors are registered with the Australian Government Clean Energy Regulator. See our list of standards and protocols. *The AS/NZ 3598:2014 standard has replaced the AS/NZ 3598:2000 standard.

NABERS assessments
NABERS involves an assessment of performance information, such as utility bills. Our electricity audit may be an essential step in the process. Identifying and implementing efficiencies results in cost savings for property owners and building tenants, as well as a higher NABERS rating.
